Tips for applying

We know it can be daunting and stressful when applying for a new job. Below we have listed some handy hints and tips from our team to help you through the process.

Our tips:

  • Tailor your resume to the role rather than supplying a generic/bulk resume.

  • Start with your most recent roles including a brief outline of the role's purpose and your achievements. Always include the start and finish dates for each position.

  • Space out your resume so it is easier to read, try to avoid cramming too much information in.

  • Use dot points to briefly explain tasks and duties completed for each role.

  • Include your education details including the year you completed your studies.

The recruitment process:

  1. The first stage of our process is a phone screening, be prepared to talk about what you can offer to the business.

  2. The next stage will be to attend a formal face to face interview.

Attending your interview:

  • Make sure you are on time.

  • Wear clean and respectable clothing - remember this is your first face to face impression.

  • Be prepared! Research Andrews Meat Industries (see the About Us page above) so you know a bit about our company.

  • Answer questions to the best of your ability, it is ok to ask for the question to be repeated.

  • Don't rush your answers, take your time and think about what you want to say.

  • Have questions ready to ask at the end of your interview about the role or our business. This is your chance to learn more about the role and our company.

  • Be prepared to provide the details of 2 x business referees.

Relax and enjoy the process: we are excited to meet you and learn more about your experience, and we hope you will be excited to meet us.

Remember this is a two-way assessment, a chance for us to assess your fit for the role and the opportunity for you to ask questions and assess whether this is the right role and company for you.

Note: AMI is an equal opportunity organisation. Pre-employment checks will be required including a pre-employment health check and reference check.
